Galpa Construction has long experience in the installation of Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) connector systems; our company has made 350 Triofix and Articouple installations. This system is our specialization and that number is a record: it is twice bigger than the rest of existing ATB systems combined, and it is the highest number of installations made by one single company. Such a record speaks volumes about the durability and the performance this ATB connector system has.
The Triofix and Articouple ATB connector system we install is for universal use. They also are hydraulically operated, and count with articulated couplers which make it capable of assuring a superior mobility. In addition, the connector system will adapt itself to a change of draft due to dumping load of dump-barges, as well as loading and unloading of cargo.
Our Triofix and Articouple ATB connector system can assure you an excellent seaworthiness for pusher-barge trains: the system can connect the pusher to the barge without previously adjusting the draft at any point within the whole range of draft relationship. The connector system is remote-controlled by the captain from the bridge and no muscle work from your crew is needed.
Last but not least, the relative pitching between the pusher and the barge is left free, while other relative motors are perfectly stopped. This feature allows the crew members on board to travel free from shocks, vibrations and noises during the connected navigation.
