Steaming & Flaring

The removal of any rest of cargo in an oil or gas transport barge is a very important stage to prepare the vessel for a new cargo. Galpa Construction can provide you with our service of steaming and flaring to perform this operation in your vessel in a very safe manner.

Our facilities located across the Texan coast are able to service your barges. We have the right equipment to steam barges with a capacity of 10,000 barrels up to 30,000 barrels. Our steaming facilities have boilers capable of producing from 8600 pounds up to 17000 pounds of steam per hour.

This tank waste removal method is used for cargos such as lube oils, Pyrolysis fuel oil, #6 bunker oil, vacuum gas oil, phenol, slack wax and paraxylene. 

If your barge transported gas, then the atmosphere in the tanks must be dealt with caution. Our staff will extract the gas vapors stored in the tanks and flare them  Galpa Construction is capable of flaring the vapors of barges with a capacity of 10000-30000 barrels thanks to our 50 ft. high thermal oxidizer. This incinerator will produce an output of 30 million btu per hour operating at its maximal capacity..

This method is applied typically to gases such as but not limited to propane, butane, butadiene, isobutane, propylene oxide, anhydrous ammonia and butane/butylene mix.
